Madi’s Progress

I’m sorry I am behind in updating.  I will update soon with our 33 week progress-

Thankfully we only had one appointment this week, we had our BPP ultrasound to check up on Miss Madilyn and met with the Dr afterwards. We went for our appointment at 11am and unfortunately they were running behind by about 45 minutes so we had to rush and find someone to pick up Hudson from preschool and make sure we had all that taken care of. Thank the Lord; He has blessed us with some of the best friends and church family! All our friends have made multiple offers to help us out in whatever we need as well as those at our church and it has really been a blessing in times like this! So we made a phone call and Hudson couldn’t have been happier because he was able to play with his buddy Tyler. So we finally made it back for our appointment, and like always Madi was going crazy moving around! The ultrasound tech even laughed and just watched her move for a while since she was going so crazy. She did great and received all her “points” that she needed this week. It had been 4 weeks since they last did her measurements so they did that as well and said she is measuring in the 70 percentile and weighs around 5lbs 1oz right now. I think that sounds pretty big for 32 weeks so we will see how much she grows in the next few weeks! She continues to look perfectly healthy and happy on the ultrasounds and gives us some sort of performance every week! The ultrasound tech also measured my fluid level and she did it twice to make sure she could get the most accurate measurement. The first time she got 33cm and the second she got 31cm. I have noticed when I tell people about my fluid they seem to think that is great and normal since it coincides with my gestational week. However, it really doesn’t have anything to do with what week I am. They normally measure your fundal height which is done on the outside of your stomach with a tape measure and that should coincide with how many weeks pregnant you are. What they measure with me every week is how much amniotic fluid is inside my uterus. I believe when I researched it the normal range is anywhere from 14cm-25cm. So anything over 25cm is considered high. It normally would start decreasing the closer you get to delivery as well, not going up. So what that means for us is my uterus is stretched right now past the size it should have been if I made it to full term! When I was 28 weeks pregnant I was measuring 34 weeks pregnant. Needless to say, I am getting pretty uncomfortable and my stomach is growing like crazy. Every elderly person I know has asked me if I am ready to pop, if I got this large with Hudson, am I sure there is only one etc J

On a brighter note though, after we waited for 45 minutes for our appointment, we had a very sweet ultrasound tech and she even brought us a gift card since we had to wait. Oh course I was sensible and picked the Bojangles gift card so I could enjoy some yummy biscuits and gravy! But it just goes to show, there is no need to get upset over something we couldn’t control, and I like to think of it as the Lord sending a little blessing our way for making sure we still honored him in our actions that day! We have another ultrasound next week, and a dr follow up appointment. We should be able to schedule our c-section date soon, as they won’t let you schedule it more than a few weeks out and they still seem to want me to make it to 39 weeks. It seems like it is so long until all this will be over and she will be here, but in reality the weeks will most likely fly by. We are still trusting the Lord to heal her and until he gives a reason to do otherwise we will continue to have faith He will do that! Even if He chooses not to heal her, we know that all we will need will be Him to get us through whatever trial we may face when she is here. We are more than excited to finally meet this sweet little girl and see what the Lord has in store for our family in the next few months! Thank you for your continued prayer and concerns, the Lord really has blessed us with the BEST friends and family in the world!

  1. Just wanted you to know that Madi is in my prayers and I know God is still listening. There is nothing too hard. I long to see her and to watch her grow up, whole and healthy.
